Quatre-Quarts, also known as Pound Cake is a type of cake traditionally made with a pound of each of four ingredients: flour, butter, eggs, and sugar. Pound cakes are generally baked in either a loaf pan or a Bundt mould.
It really is a beauty in all its simplicity, but if you wish, you can jazz it up with citrus zest, dried fruits or dark chocolate. I sometimes like to add dried cherries and lavender. Serve the cake as le goûter or even as breakfast on Sunday morning.
